~attachment~

"I am awfully greedy; I want everything from life. I want to be a woman and to be a man, to have many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish... You see, it is difficult to get all which I want. And then when I do not succeed I get mad with anger."

As Ram Dass so eloquently put, "Don't get lost in the detail; let your awareness go free."

~He makes it sound so easy!~

But the truth is, getting out of our own minds and narratives is just practice. Conscious daily practice of trying to see ourselves living within our masks and trying to be a 'somebody.' As it would turn out, that 'somebody' can be a cause of great suffering. Holding onto an image of who we think we are or who we wish we could be, an eternal attachment to a storyline over which we have no control over.

Look within. Be bold. Have the courage to let the narrative go...

~slowing down~

We travel so quickly through life, just to get there...but where is there?

Let's take a step back and slow down.

Live moments. Slow down enough to see

Embrace.

~making promises~

"To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you."
